Slocum & Co LLC (“Slocum & Co,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of our clients, prospective clients, website visitors, and the families we serve. Because our work may involve access to clients' homes, belongings, personal records, and sensitive family matters, we take confidentiality and responsible handling of personal information seriously.
This Privacy Policy explains the types of information we may collect, how we use and share that information, and the steps we take to protect it.
1. Information We Collect

This information may include your name, email address, telephone number, property or service address, billing information, project details, scheduling information, family or authorized contact information, service preferences, photographs, documents, communications, and other information reasonably necessary to provide the services you request.
We may maintain client and project information through third-party business-management systems, including Jobber.
2. Information Encountered During Our Services
The nature of downsizing, organizing, move management, estate, clean-out, and transition services means that Slocum & Co personnel may encounter private or sensitive information while working in a client's home or property.
This may include, for example, financial statements, bank records, tax documents, wills, trusts, estate documents, medical records, insurance documents, legal correspondence, passwords or account information, personal letters, photographs, identification documents, family records, and other confidential materials. We recommend removing or securing any personal documents or those containing sensitive information before we begin the project.
Merely encountering such information does not mean Slocum & Co is intentionally collecting it or incorporating it into our business records.
We will make reasonable efforts to respect and protect confidential information encountered during our work and to limit its use or disclosure to what is reasonably necessary to perform authorized services, comply with the client's instructions, protect persons or property, or comply with applicable law.
Clients should not provide highly sensitive personal, financial, medical, or account information unless it is reasonably necessary for the services being provided.
3. How We Use Information
We may use personal information to:
• respond to inquiries and consultation requests;
• prepare estimates, Statements of Work, and Service Agreements;
• schedule and perform services;
• communicate with clients and authorized family members or representatives;

• provide customer service;
• improve our services and website;
• protect our clients, employees, vendors, property, and business;
• establish, exercise, or defend legal rights;
• comply with legal, regulatory, insurance, accounting, or tax requirements; and
• otherwise operate Slocum & Co.
We do not use information encountered incidentally inside a client's home for unrelated purposes.
4. Website Information, Cookies & Analytics
Our website is hosted using Showit.
When you visit our website, certain technical information may be collected automatically by our website platform or related service providers. This may include information such as your IP address, browser or device type, pages visited, referring website, approximate location derived from technical information, and information about how visitors interact with the website.
We may use cookies and similar technologies necessary for website functionality, performance, security, and analytics.
Slocum & Co may use Google Analytics or similar analytics services to better understand website traffic, visitor behavior, and the effectiveness of our website and marketing. These services may use cookies or similar technologies to collect information about website usage.
You may be able to restrict or disable cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may affect the functionality of certain website features.
5. Advertising & Marketing Technologies
Slocum & Co may in the future use advertising and measurement services offered by providers such as Google, Meta, or similar platforms.
If implemented, these services may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies to measure advertising effectiveness, understand website activity, or deliver advertising.
We will update this Privacy Policy as appropriate if our use of advertising or tracking technologies materially changes.
Slocum & Co currently uses email and text messaging primarily for inquiries, scheduling, project updates, client service, and other communications related to an existing or prospective business relationship.
6. Payments & Financial Information
Payments may be processed through Jobber Payments and its payment-processing partners, including Stripe.
Clients may have the option to pay using credit or debit cards, ACH bank payments, or other available payment methods. Payment information is processed through the applicable payment platform and payment processor.
Clients may also be offered the option to securely save a payment method for future transactions through the payment platform. Where saving a payment method is optional, that choice is made by the client through the applicable payment service.
Slocum & Co does not independently maintain a separate database containing clients' full payment card or bank-account credentials outside the payment systems used to process or manage payments.
Payment processors and financial service providers maintain their own privacy, security, and data-processing practices.
7. When We Share Information
Slocum & Co does not sell clients' personal information.
We do not sell personal information to data brokers, advertisers, marketers, or other third parties for their independent use.
We may share information when reasonably necessary with service providers and professionals who assist us in operating our business or carrying out an authorized client engagement.
Depending on the project, these parties may include:
• scheduling and client-management platforms;
• website and technology providers;
• email and communications providers;

• contractors and tradespeople;
• repair and renovation professionals;
• storage providers;
• title or settlement companies;
• attorneys, accountants, insurers, or other professional advisers; and
• other providers requested or authorized by the client.
We seek to limit information shared with these parties to information reasonably necessary for their role.
Independent third-party providers maintain their own privacy and data-security practices, and their handling of information may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, governmental requests, protect the safety or rights of a person or property, investigate suspected fraud or unlawful activity, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
8. Real Estate Brokerage Services
Slocum & Co LLC's downsizing, move-management, organizing, estate, clean-out, transition, and related services are separate from real estate brokerage services.
If a client elects to establish a real estate brokerage relationship, that relationship is entered into separately pursuant to an applicable brokerage agreement through eXp Realty and is governed by applicable real estate law, brokerage requirements, agreements, disclosures, and policies.
Information collected or processed in connection with a real estate brokerage relationship may therefore also be collected, maintained, processed, or disclosed through eXp Realty and other systems and parties involved in the real estate transaction and will be subject to applicable eXp Realty privacy and data-processing practices.
Engaging Slocum & Co for transition services does not require a client to engage Slocum & Co, eXp Realty, or an affiliated licensee for real estate brokerage services.
9. Project Photography & Documentation
Slocum & Co may photograph or otherwise document a property, belongings, rooms, project conditions, inventories, work progress, donations, resale items, and before-and-after conditions when reasonably related to estimating, planning, documenting, coordinating, or performing services.
Consistent with our Service Agreement and Terms & Conditions, project photography may also be used for portfolio, educational, or marketing purposes where permitted by the client's agreement, with identifying details withheld unless the client separately authorizes their disclosure.
We will make reasonable efforts not to intentionally publish visible personal documents, identifying information, family photographs, account information, addresses, security information, or other sensitive information as part of marketing materials.
10. Confidentiality
During an engagement, Slocum & Co may receive or encounter private personal, financial, medical, legal, family, estate, or property-related information.
We will make reasonable efforts to maintain the confidentiality of information entrusted to us and to protect documents, keys, access codes, security information, records, communications, and private family details from unauthorized use or disclosure.
Information may be shared with employees, contractors, vendors, or professionals involved in an engagement only to the extent reasonably necessary to perform their responsibilities or as otherwise authorized by the client or required by law.
11. Data Security

These measures may include limiting access to client information, using reputable third-party technology and payment providers, utilizing password-protected systems, and taking reasonable precautions when handling physical and electronic client records.
No method of electronic transmission, electronic storage, or information-security system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, Slocum & Co cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a data-security incident involving personal information, we will evaluate and respond to the incident and provide any notifications required by applicable law.
12. Data Retention
We retain personal and project information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain appropriate business and project records, comply with legal, tax, accounting, insurance, contractual, or regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, and protect legitimate business interests.
Different categories of information may be retained for different periods depending on their purpose and applicable requirements.
Information that is no longer reasonably necessary may be deleted, destroyed, anonymized, or otherwise disposed of when appropriate.

• request that we update or correct contact information we maintain about you;
• ask questions about how your information is handled;
• request removal from non-essential marketing communications; or

Certain information may need to be retained despite a deletion request when reasonably necessary to maintain transaction or service records, comply with legal or regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, establish or defend legal rights, or fulfill other legitimate business purposes.
14. Third-Party Websites & Services
Our website, communications, or services may contain links to or integrate with third-party websites, platforms, or services.
